Globish in Japan

The Globish Foundation is pleased to have as affiliate*, the Globish Institute of Japan (JGI)

(in Globish)

JGI has two main goals:

  • to spread the use of Globish around Japan, and
  • to help others with their Globish work.

The JGI, like the Globish Foundation, aims to help with some of the major needs of the global community: to help children in Asia who are very poor and to stop the bad treatment of women. As the JGI says, "Globish, as a global communication tool will help the children because their future will be open around the world".

Currently in Japan

There are 12 books, including "Globish the World Over (GWO), available in Japanese. An extra book will be published on December 18th.

The authors of the Globish books are independent business people but JGI aims to support an author community.  Such people are Globish 'sales' people.  The JGI will use a Facebook Group for the community.

For some time, Lingua France, working with JGI, has been running fun events like a BBQ party and Christmas events.

JGI will open their website soon, with their Facebook Page at the same time. In addition, there will be a Blog from a member of JGI who is a Globish Consultant. There will also be an email magazine for Globish in Japan. Already it is expected there will be 10 to 30 thousand people wanting this magazine.

International News

(in Globish)

Russia

Dr. Alex Lapitsky of St. Petersburg is completing a side-by-side Russian Globish book/CD version of Globish In Globish (GNG) by David Hon.  It will be published in January 2012 by Prestige Books in Moscow. The book-audio version is based on the Internet Globish course which, before, was only available for computers.

Lapitsky* is a well-know Russian expert in language who has been responsible for at least 20 word books and other materials in Russia.

(* he is a translator and linguist who also makes dictionaries)

Brazil

Fale Globish is a new business operation with Ziaom, one of the major business in Brazil and connected to Wizard Languages, the largest English language business in Brazil.

Book materials for these businesses will be looked after by Globish Solutions, Inc. in Vancouver, Canada, according to rules set by the Globish Foundation.

Asia

Linking Publishers - a leading publisher in Hong Kong, Singapore, and Taiwan, is publishing Globish The World Over by Jean-Paul Nerrière and David Hon, side-by-side in traditional Chinese early in 2012.  A modern Chinese version is also available, via Amazon.

Japan

Jean-Paul Nerrière was invited to Japan shortly after the highly successful showing of the Japanese side-by-side book of Globish The World Over. Lingua Franca held an evening meeting on Globish, and there is now a fair amount of work going on with teaching Globish there.

International Note On Amazon's Kindle and Globish

Amazon is not publishing Kindle books in Russian, Chinese or Japanese (or many other languages) due to difficulty in using only Roman character sets. The few books in languages other than English for the Kindle must use Graphics pages rather than text ones. Thus only a few books with characters from other languages are available on Kindle and, by extension, through the Kindle programs for PCs, Macs, iPhones, iPads, and Android systems.

This has held up the publication of many Globish books in other languages via that quick media that makes international selling easy. Nonethe less, The Globish Dao, by David Hon with first words by Jean-Paul Nerrière, is available for the Kindle.
