Globish The World Over is among the few books that go to the readership with side-by-side translation. It means that the original text and the Chinese translation can be read next to each other on every page. Thus this book fills a double function. On one hand reading only the right side, the Chinese translation, the book can give information, and perhaps amusement, to those who speak little or no English. They are interested in an amazing process that is happening in front of the eyes of people in this age: The world has found a common language. It will help all people to communicate with each other, and this language is being called Globish.

On the other hand, the side-by-side translation provides an opportunity to the learners of English -- or perhaps learners of Chinese -- to use this book as a kind of language coursebook. During the translation, we paid special attention to following the grammatical structure and the phrasing of the original text. It is portrayed accurately to the extent the different structure of the Chinese language allows us to do so. We hope this method will provide a real opportunity -- in a real language environment -- for the learners of English to follow and recognize elements of English they have learned in school.
